Why Exercising is CRUCIAL for Hair Growth!
Hey queen,
If you're anything like me, you know life can get VERY busy...
Sometimes SO busy, you let important health habits get away from you...
Especially exercising (funny how i’m rarely too busy to eat though 😂)
But seriously, let’s face it...
After a long, tiring week, sometimes the only place you really want to be... is on the couch or in the bed!
But even on a lazy, relaxing Sunday, one thing I try to NEVER let myself do... is skip my exercise routine.
It's so important to me to fit in my 30 minutes of cardio, or weight lifting, or circuit training, or stretching, or sit-ups at least 3-4 times a week...
It doesn’t matter how, just get that body moving!
You’ve probably heard this over and over but exercise is really the #1 most important thing you can do for your health...
For a healthy heart, weight control, a longer life...
And even your hair! -Yep, you heard me, your hair!
So, now you're probably asking “what exactly does exercise have to do with hair growth?”
Here are 4 ways that exercise can help stimulate your hair growth:
I’m sure this one isn’t news to you. But, stress = hair loss. When we are stressed, our bodies produce the hormone cortisone, which leads to the shedding of hair.
When we exercise though, we produce the hormone serotonin, which helps reduce stress. So, the less stressed out we are, the healthier our hair becomes!
2. Better Sleep a.k.a. Cell Regeneration
Regular exercise ensures we sleep better, leading to better/faster cell renewal.
A good and restorative night’s sleep is required for the protein synthesis of the hair + the release of enzymes and growth hormones that are necessary for overall hair health.
The way that sleep affects your body’s natural hormones is probably the most important part of preventing hair loss. Your body produces a hormone called melatonin. This hormone helps your body regulate your sleep cycle, and it also has been shown to increase hair growth. Coincidence? I think not.
3. Increased Blood Flow
Exercise greatly increases blood flow, circulation and body temperature. As you can imagine, blood flow is crucial for a plethora of reasons, but believe it or not, your hair is one of them!
An increase in blood flow from regular exercise helps necessary nutrients to get to the scalp and results in all around healthier hair!
4. Nourished Follicles
It’s all kind of like a domino effect you see... This increased blood flow then helps the blood vessels pump more nutrients to the scalp.
The more the blood flows, the more nutrients and oxygen is supplied to the scalp to make for healthier hair follicles, which is really where the hair growth all starts!
5. Staying Consistent…
Unfortunately though, exercise isn’t a one and done, immediate results kind of thing (as much as all of us wish it was.) As much as one workout a month won’t give us our perfect bikini body, neither will it make your hair any healthier!
But, if you dedicate a few days a week to getting your heart rate up and your blood pumping, you're bound to see results, across the board!
All in, exercise is a great way to increase overall body health which benefits your hair. But it's not always enough. There are dozens of possible deficiencies and issues that could be causing your hair loss or slow growth. You need to supplement your exercise regiment with tools like, Allurium Hair Growth Serum.
